AMAZON TUPANA


The Amazon Tupana Lodge is a small size lodge with but charming. Its rustic Amazon architecture carefully planned to not affecting the environment provides a comfortable stay. The lodge offer facilities like reception, laundry, restaurant with regional cosine, bar, electric power 110v (The electricity is 110V supplied by diesel engine between the time 12:00h to 15:00h and 18:00h to 07:30h). The lodge is located in an area without telephone, mobile or internet signal.

Children Policy
Because the distance of Manaus, Tupana does not work with children under 6 years.
6 and 11 years with two adults in the same room have a 50% discount of double room rate or 50% of the single room if staying with only one adult.

It is located 180Km South of Manaus in the Biological Reservation of Tupana River, an ecological paradise, rich area in fauna and flora where we can find a large variety of species of aquatic birds, mammals, fish and reptiles. The transportation up the lodge begins with an adventure in the meeting of waters of Amazonas River (Called by locals: Solimões) and Negro River, running side by side. Then, 178 km of highway BR 319 which use to connect to Transamazônica highway (this road used to link Amazonas state with rest of Brazil, but it is partially destroyed). During the way to Amazon Tupana Lodge, observe the rich landscape and great quantity of water lilies and birds (Some periods along the year).

Transfer


The transportation combines vans and speed canoes with all safety and comfortable conditions available in the region. The procedure is:
PART 1: 07:00 the itinerary begins passing by the hotels in Manaus ending in the Ceasa Port (van - 20 minutes);
PART 2: Ceasa Port cross the meeting of waters up to Careiro Village (speed boat - 20 minutes);
PART 3: Careiro Village up to Tupana River by BR 319 (van/car, no guarantee of air-conditioning - 2 hours and 30 minutes);
PART 4: Tupana River up to Tupana Lodge (speed boat - 20 minutes).

Other information

What to bring: Comfortable clothes, long pants, shorts, socks, tennis shoes or boots for rainforest trails, swimming suit, sun lotion, flash-light, binoculars, repellent, sun glasses, hat or cap and rain gear.
Luggage is limited to 10 kg per person.
Extras expenses (like drinks, juices, bottle water) must be done in cash.
The electricity is 110V supplied by diesel engine between the time 12:00h to 15:00h and 18:00h to 07:30h.

Japiim (6 days and 5 nights)

1st day

At 07:00 AM departure from hotel in Manaus and transfers to the lodge. At 11:30h arrival at Amazon Tupana Lodge. Welcome drink and accommodation. Lunch. Tour in motorized canoe for surround area recognizance.After dinner, departing in motorized canoe to observe nocturnal animals, listen the sound of the forest and appreciate the sky when weather permits. The highlight is alligator spotting.

2nd day

Breakfast. Jungle trekking with naturalist guide to observe the beauty and fell the energy of Amazon Forest. Lunch at lodge. Afternoon tour in motorized canoe for regional fishing in special the famous piranhas. In the way back to the lodge, observation of the Amazon sunset. Dinner and overnight.

3rd day

Morning tour to visit the locals' house to learn about their culture and behavior. Lunch. Paddling tour like the locals to observe the forest in Igapós area (flooded forest, only during flood season) and Igarapés (creeks). Dinner in the lodge and overnight.

4th day

This promise to be the adventure day. After breakfast, leaving for a day trekking. The naturalist guide will explain about fauna and flora and survival techniques in jungle. The camp will be built with the natural resources of the forest and the overnight will be in hammocks with mosquitoes net. Lunch and dinner in the forest this time.

5th day

Trekking to return to the lodge. Breakfast at the lodge and free time for leisure or going one of the excursions again. Dinner and overnight in the lodge.

6th day

Breakfast in the lodge and morning free to rest. Check-out at 1 PM and departures to Manaus with arrival foreseen to 5 PM.

Papagaio (5 days and 4 nights)

1st day

At 07:00 AM departure from hotel in Manaus and transfers to the lodge. At 11:30h arrival at Amazon Tupana Lodge. Welcome drink and accommodation. Lunch. Tour in motorized canoe for surround area recognizance.After dinner, departing in motorized canoe to observe nocturnal animals, listen the sound of the forest and appreciate the sky when weather permits. The highlight is alligator spotting.

2nd day

Breakfast. Depart for a jungle trek led by our specialized guide, where we can see the beauty and feel the energy of the Amazon rain forest. Return to the lodge. Lunch. Tour on motorized canoes on a fishing trip to learn about the large variety of our fish and specially the famous piranhas. Sailing back to the lodge you will watch one of the most spectacular sunsets. Dinner and overnight.

3rd day

Sunrise trip in small rowing canoes to observe the bird life and also the famous pink dolphins (with lucky). Return to the lodge for breakfast. Depart in motorized canoe to visit a native family, where we will learn about their culture and their customs. Return to the lodge for lunch. Depart in rowing canoes, like the natives, to observe the nature between igapos (flooded forest) and igarapes (small creeks). Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

4th day

This day promises to be the highlight in adventure. After breakfast begins a full day jungle trek, where our professional guide will explain the fauna and flora and also the techniques of jungle surviving. We will build a camp with material exclusively found in the area and the overnight will be in hammocks with mosquito nets.

5th day

Return to the lodge. Breakfast. Lunch. Check-out at 1 PM and departures to Manaus with arrival foreseen to 5 PM.

Cigana (4 days and 3 nights)

1st day
